Terms

The agreement for using Swirl. It is deliberately short, and it says the things that actually matter: what the service is, what you agree to, and what happens if something goes wrong.

Last updated: October 2026. These terms apply to swirlai.app and to any account on it. Questions go to hello@swirlai.app.

The service

Swirl is a conversational AI product. It runs third-party language models, keeps a memory of what matters to you between chats, and turns replies into documents and visualizations. It is a tool, not a professional: it cannot give you legal, medical, financial or regulated advice, and nothing it produces should be treated as if a qualified professional said it.

Swirl is a young product. Features change, models come and go, and parts of it may be altered, paused or withdrawn. We aim not to surprise you, but we do not offer a service level agreement, and we may change these terms as the product matures. If a change is material, we will say so in the app and update the date above.

Your account

  • You need to be at least 13 years old to hold an account.
  • Keep your sign-in details to yourself. If you use Google sign-in, you are responsible for activity under that Google account.
  • One account per person. Sharing an account, or using Swirl to serve many users under one login, needs a separate arrangement — write to us first.
  • Tell us if you think someone has used your account. We will help you lock it down.

What you promise

  • Your content is yours. You keep ownership of what you type and upload. You promise you have the right to send it, and that doing so does not break anyone else's rights.
  • Do not use Swirl to break the law. No fraud, no trafficking of any kind, no infringement, no deliberate attempt to damage the service or another person's use of it.
  • Do not attack the service. No scraping, no reverse engineering the paid tiers, no probing for rate limits, no reselling access, no automated abuse of the free tier, and no attempts to disrupt it for others.
  • Be straight with us. Do not use Swirl to impersonate others, to send unsolicited messages, or in a way that breaks a third party's terms.
  • Your integrations are your call. You decide which services to connect and what to let them reach. You are responsible for what you authorize and for complying with those services' own terms.

What you grant us

To run the service we need permission to store what you send, to process it (including sending it to the model provider you selected), to display it back to you, and to keep it available across your chats. That permission lasts as long as your account does. We do not use your content to train our own models, and we do not sell it.

What the models give back

Model output is generated, not guaranteed. It can be wrong, can reflect biases in its training, and can occasionally reproduce wording that appears elsewhere. It is yours to use, but you are responsible for what you do with it — and if you publish it, you are the publisher. Check anything that matters.

Billing

The Free plan needs no card. Paid plans are monthly or annual subscriptions that add a usage pool shared across every model. Annual plans are charged for the year at checkout. Paid accounts can buy one-time extra credit from $5 to $500, at $1 of credit for every dollar paid. The current plans and prices are on the pricing page.

Payments and subscriptions are handled by Dodo Payments, who act as Merchant of Record — they are the seller on your receipt, and they handle taxes, invoices, receipts, refunds, disputes, failed-payment retries, dunning, and abandoned-checkout recovery. Swirl may change plan prices, allowances and limits, and may offer a plan or withdraw one, with reasonable notice. We do not change the price of a plan you are already on mid-cycle. You can cancel at any time; a cancellation takes effect at the end of the monthly or annual period you have paid for, and the service stays usable until then. Refunds are handled by Dodo under their refund policy.

Your content and the law

You keep your rights in what you send us, and you promise that sending it does not infringe anyone else's rights. You indemnify us against a claim that your content, or your use of an integration, caused someone harm.

Ending it

You can stop using Swirl and delete your account at any time — email us and we will remove your account and the data attached to it. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, that puts the service at risk, or that we are legally required to act on. Where we can, we will tell you why.

Warranties and liability

Swirl is provided as-is. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties including fitness for a particular purpose. Our total liability to you for any claim relating to Swirl is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for fraud or wilful misconduct. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, in which case they do not apply to you.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms. The date at the top says when they last changed, and material changes will be announced in the app. If you do not accept them, you can close your account. Questions about anything here go to hello@swirlai.app.
